Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of booking. There are no payment plans. Your spot in the commission queue is not held until payment is received and confirmed.

All prices are listed in USD.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Because this work is deeply personal and begins immediately upon receipt of your intake form, all sales are final. No refunds are offered once payment has been made.

If you need to cancel before submitting your intake form, a store credit equal to your investment may be offered at my discretion. This is not guaranteed.

If a commission cannot be completed due to a circumstance on my end (illness, supply unavailability, or other unforeseen events), you will receive a full refund or the option to remain on the waitlist for the following season.

The Intake Form

Your intake form must be submitted within 21 days of payment. If I have not received your intake form within this window and you have not been in contact to make alternate arrangements, your commission will be forfeited without refund.

Timeline

I work on a 6-8 week timeline from intake form submission to shipping. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Sacred creative work cannot be rushed, and maceration timelines are determined by the formula itself.

If you have a specific date requirement (a wedding, a retreat, a birthday), please share this in your intake form and confirm it with me before booking. I will do my best to accommodate meaningful deadlines but cannot guarantee them.

Rush commissions are not guaranteed and subject to additional fees.

The Creative Process & Artistic Direction

When you commission a Bespoke Scent from Alchemessence, you are commissioning an artist and a spiritual channel — not a custom-order manufacturing service.

I work in deep collaboration with the plant spirits and the muses. The formula I arrive at is the one that arrived through this process. I do not replicate existing perfumes, reconstruct commercial fragrances, or build to a shopping list of requested notes.

You provide the intention, the story, the emotional terrain. I provide the art.

Refinements

One refinement round is included in every commission. A refinement is a single directional adjustment — softening, deepening, shifting an aspect of the scent. It is not a rebuild.

Refinement requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of your Scent Portrait or sample receipt. Requests received after this window cannot be honored.

Additional refinement rounds beyond the one included are not available.

Samples

A sample decant may be requested as a courtesy to support the refinement process. Dislike of a sample does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Formula Ownership

All formulas created by Alchemessence remain the intellectual property of Juniper Stokes / Alchemessence. Your bespoke scent will not be recreated for another client. However, I retain the right to use knowledge gained in its creation in future work.

You are welcome to order refills of your bespoke scent at a standard refill rate, subject to material availability.

Allergens & Sensitivities

Natural botanical perfumes contain complex plant-derived compounds. It is your responsibility to disclose any known allergies or sensitivities in your intake form. I will do my best to accommodate known sensitivities, but I cannot guarantee a sensitivity-free formula given the complexity of whole-plant materials.

If you have a history of reactions to essential oils or botanical products, please consult with a healthcare provider before ordering.

Alchemessence is not responsible for adverse reactions to completed commissions.

Shipping

Domestic shipping is included in your commission investment. International shipping is available at an additional cost calculated at fulfillment.

Alchemessence is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier once a package has shipped. If your package arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and contents immediately and contact me within 48 hours.

Perfumes and oils cannot be shipped via air internationally due to flammability regulations. International orders ship via ground-compatible international methods, which may extend delivery timelines.

Group & Event Commissions

Group and event commissions are subject to all of the above terms with the following additions:

• A minimum lead time of 8 weeks is required. Bookings made within this window of an event date are at my discretion and cannot be guaranteed.

• Quantity and format are confirmed at intake and cannot be significantly altered after the creative process has begun.

• Group commissions are priced based on quantity and complexity. Final pricing is confirmed before work begins.
