WHAT YOU'RE COMMISSIONING
Bespoke Botanical Perfume
A botanical perfume built in the classical tradition — top notes that open the door, a heart that holds the story, a base that lingers on the skin for hours. Complex, maximalist, alive. Formulated from 100% whole-plant* materials including some of the rarest aromatics available: true blue lotus, aged oud, boronia, jonquil absolute, eaglewood, and more. Available in an organic alcohol or oil base.
*Organic, cruelty free non-plant essences may be used upon shared agreement — such as beeswax absolute or tincture of wool.
Available in 15ml or 1oz.
A, oil-based formula designed for devotional application — pulse points, ceremony, daily ritual. Many of my clients use their anointing oil as a prayer, a grounding practice, a way to mark sacred time. If you work with the body, lead ceremony, or simply want your fragrance to feel like a ritual, this is your form. A wider scent profile is possible here — less traditional perfume, more aromatic.

A signature scent created for a shared experience. A wedding anointing oil used in the ceremony and given as a gift. A retreat scent that opens and closes each circle. A fragrance that becomes the olfactory identity of your studio, shop, or healing space.
Perfumes and anointing oils are possible, as are essential oil concentrated diffuser blends, aromatic mists, and body products.
These commissions are among the most meaningful work I do. A scent that carries the memory of a room full of people in transformation — there is nothing quite like it.

THE PROCESS Overview

Intake: You receive a deep, written questionnaire. This is where your commission is born. Optional 30-minute video call available after submission.
Creation: I disappear into the studio. The plants speak. The formula emerges. This sacred phase takes as long as it takes — typically 4 weeks including maceration time.
The Reveal: You receive your Scent Portrait in writing — the name of your fragrance, the essences chosen, the intention woven in. Your bottle is blessed and prepared.
Refinement: One round of refinement is included if needed. A single adjustment, honored with care.
Your Bottle: Shipped with a Ritual Card — the story of your scent and a simple practice for wearing it as ceremony.
THE ESSENCES
I have spent years gathering the finest, rarest botanical materials in the world.
True blue lotus. Aged oud and eaglewood from sustainable sources. Boronia, one of the most precious florals in natural perfumery. Nettle absolute. Aged resins. Wild-harvested plant tinctures. Hand-ground incense materials infused in oil.
Alongside these, the beloved foundations — rose, neroli, jasmine, sandalwood, vetiver, and more — whole, pure, and of the highest available quality.
Every commission draws from this full palette. I do not offer tiers. The plants that belong in your formula will make themselves known, and they will be sourced without compromise.
FROM THE PERFUMER
I have been in relationship with plants my entire life. What began in a childhood backyard — mixing pond water and flower petals, convinced I was making something magical — became a decades-long initiation into the spiritual dimensions of botanical medicine and sacred perfumery.
I trained for years in clinical aromatherapy, then in natural perfumery, then in ancient Egyptian aromatics, Taoist anointing practice, and sacred fragrance traditions from around the world. I have studied with some of the preeminent natural perfumers of our time.
And the truth is: the plants have always been my greatest teachers.
When I create a bespoke scent, I am not simply blending. I am listening. I am channeling. I am in relationship with the materials, with your story, and with something larger than both of us.

About Alchemessence Perfumes
Whole-Plant Perfume
Clean perfumes and natural fragrances are huge industry, and a lot of misinformation and greenwashing goes on behind the scenes at both big brands and indie perfume houses.
I am part of a growing movement of natural perfumers who are truly committed to natural, whole-plant perfume. There’s no formal terminology to set apart mainstream “natural” from 100% natural, so I like to use the term elevated naturals.
Alchemessence perfumes are elevated.
Synthetics: Contain manufactured aroma-molecules. Look for “safe synthetics”, aldehydes, unspecified naturalness.
Mixed: Contain a combination of manufactured aroma-molecules and natural botanicals. Most common type of perfume. Marketing will focus on natural elements, but synthetics will be found in ingredient lists.
Natural: Broad category that includes use of “natural” isolates—lab-extracted plant aromas, usually of GMO origin. Can also include cruelly-derived animal products.
Botanical: Contain only whole materials of plant origin (CO2s, absolutes, tinctures, essential oils).
Elevated: Made from pure, whole botanicals, cruelty-free tinctures of non-botanical substances (sea shells, stones, honey, etc.), and infused with energetic and spiritual attunements.
Elevated Ingredients, Elevated Experience
Wearing a purely natural, artisan perfume is not like wearing one that contains synthetics or is manufactured in a large facility.
Alchemessence perfumes are formulated in partnership with nature—and nature is always changing.
As with fine wines, the aroma of each perfume will vary slightly with the ingredients used. Seasons, country of origin, and varying availability truly make each perfume a unique experience.
These natural perfumes are also unfiltered, which means that variation in color, cloudiness, and some separation are to be expected. Though filtering creates a clean, clear finished product, it also removes many healing molecules. I want you to have the full aromatic and spiritual experience each perfume is capable of offering.
These perfumes last a long time, but they don’t stick with you like synthetics do. It’s time to reevaluate our thinking around how long perfumes “should” last.
Natural perfumes seep into the skin of the wearer, harmonizing with individual chemistry to create a completely new and unique experience. I carefully construct each perfume to morph through three divine stages, leaving a long-lasting base on the skin that is unlike the initial aroma to hit your knows.
As your perfume unfolds and transforms over time, you’ll first enjoy top notes that leave a lush heart and finally a long-lasting base. Lighter perfumes may last a couple hours, while richer perfumes might last all-day.
I like to think of reapplying as a treat rather than a chore. Every time you anoint yourself with your sacred fragrance, you re-engage with the intention and healing held within each bottle.
Bio
Juniper Stokes has formally trained and mentored in natural perfumery with some of the preeminent natural perfumers today, including Anya McCoy, Roxanna Villa, and Mindy Green.
She has also been a practicing aromatherapist for nearly two decades, completing a 610-hour clinical certification in aromatherapy. For the past several years, Juniper has also studied herbalism, wildcrafting, and flower essences.
A lifelong student of spirituality, Juniper has trained with energy healers, spiritual guides, and shamanic practitioners worldwide.
